We have now finished the complete renovation of two former farm workers cottages in Snape. The works involved removing the whole roof and to supply and install raised tie trusses to provide increased head room and a vaulted ceiling. We re-used the existing pantiles which were relaid with new lead work to the chimneys. The existing brickwork was repaired as needed as well as underpinning the complete back wall due to poor ground conditions.
We renewed all of the existing floors and lined the existing walls to increase the U value rating efficiently. We replaced all existing windows and doors as well as new openings with new aluminium clad double glazed wood.
The properties were re-worked on and re-plumbed using LED lighting and an ASHP instead of a boiler. The roof was insulated to current requirements with the end result of the buildings being very efficient but have kept all the charm, detail and characteristics of an old building.
